Under 7 & Under 8 Academy
Swindon Village Bowmen Academy is an introduction to football for younger children. The club specifically caters for U7 and U8 boys and girls (school years 2 and 3), who are keen to learn the basics to progress into our league teams at U9 (Year 4). Children can just turn up for a session and pay as they go.
The Saturday Club coaches are either FA qualified, or working towards qualification. All coaches are CRB checked via our club Child Welfare Officer.The two hour sessions take place every Saturday from 10.00am until 12.00 pm at Swindon Village School. We also have use of an Astro-turf all weather pitch at Cheltenham Civil Service Club for training and a grass pitch for games.
The weekly fees are £ 2.00 per session. Please ensure the children are equipped with suitable footwear (football boots for grass, trainers for astro turf), shin pads and a drink. As we move into autumn/winter, please ensure the children have warm suitable clothing.
As always, we are keen for parents to help out with the club. We would love to hear from mums or dads who might enjoy lending a hand with the training/routines. The club is totally reliant on help and support from volunteers, and all the volunteers are parents.
